The Great American Past-time

A couple of weeks ago we went to see a Washington Nationals Baseball game with my in-laws. it was really a great time. The Nationals just had a new stadium built last year. It's a gorgeous stadium. They were playing the Seattle Mariners. My husband and his family are from Bellingham WA so they grew up rooting for the Mariners, so that's why they wanted to go to this game. I've never really been a big baseball fan but this was a really good game. The Nationals are not known for being very good; however this year they have improved and had the best year that they've had in years. Even still the stadium was barely half full. We had fantastic seats pretty close to the field and they were only $12! This picture is from our seats not zoomed in at all.

Here's the family. I'm not sure what was going on with my camera. Starting from the right we have Lucas, Dad, Mom (holding Caiden), Ike (Emily's husband), Emily, and Leif. We left Ayla at home with a babysitter. We would have had a hard time paying attention to the game if she was there. She would have been climbing over the seats and I wouldn't have been surprised if she would have tried to run out on the field and join in the game. :)

I asked Lucas who the most famous player on the filed was that I should get a picture of and he said Ichiro Suzuki. That's him in the blue. He must be famous because I've actually heard of him and like I said I'm not really a baseball fan.

One thing about my in-laws you could never say is that they don't love my kids. They truly do. I hardly ever get a chance to hold my own children when they're around...and that's okay.

I think this is a picture of Jayson Werth he's the "big deal" for the Nationals. They paid a ton of money for him.

Here's Caiden and I celebrating because the Nationals won! I was shocked. The score was 5-1 in favor of the Mariners going into the bottom of the ninth inning. In the ninth inning the Nationals scored 3 runs then had two men on base and two outs when their last batter came up to bat. He hit a home run and the Nationals won 6-5! It was very exciting and a great ending.

Yes that's where we got our tickets too. I guess all teams are really cheap for games then. I jnust thought it was the Nationals b/c they aren't very good.

Fun! I used to really enjoy going to Bison's games. I only went to one major league game. That was a Pittsburgh Pirates game with my Dad many years ago. We used to sit & listen to Pirates games on a radio on the front porch almost every night. Back then you could pick up KDKA Pittsburgh on our home radio!
