Niagara Falls

While we were in Buffalo we decided to take a day just for ourselves and we went to Niagara Falls. It was a gorgeous day. Beautiful weather around 75, sunny, just perfect. We packed a picnic lunch and had our meal in the park along side the river. Then we made our way to the falls. I've been to the falls many times before but have never done the touristy things, like the Maid of the Mist and the trolley. This time we did those things. We were thinking about doing the Cave of the Winds but that was not recommended with children. So when they're bigger we'll hit that.

Ayla was really excited. We had been talking about the falls and read a book where the family visits it so she had an idea, but when she actually saw it she said "Whoa, that's cool!"

I dressed Caiden in the Bills outfit that he has. I figured it would be appropriate.

When you go on the Maid of the Mist you wear these blue plastic raincoats. It is a very wet ride. It's not called Maid of the Mist for nothing. Caiden kept trying to lick his coat it was cute.

Ayla on the boat

Right at the base of the falls. It was very wet and very loud. It was also very cool. If you've never been I highly recommend it.

Our group coming off the boat after the ride.

After the boat ride we went to a platform that overlooks the falls. I think it was 100 feet high. The next few pictures are from the top. It was a windy day and you could actually feel the platform swaying. You can see one of the Maid of the Mist boats down at the base of the falls. So you get an idea of how close the boats get.

It looks like you had a great time. I bet Ayla will always remember that day. I have always loved Niagra Falls, I really do think it is spectacular.

Ayla is so cute and Caiden is getting soooo big!

That looks like so much fun. We have a cousin in Erie and should visit and go to the falls.

Maid of the Mist is amazing! I love the picture of Caiden with his tongue out trying to lick the raincoat!
